Parsons to Oversee Phase 1 of Florida Airport Expansion

Parsons Corporation has been selected to deliver comprehensive project management services for the first phase of the terminal expansion at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, Florida. The firm will support the airport authority-led team during both the construction period and the early stages of terminal operations.
As part of its role, Parsons will act as an extension of the airport authority, overseeing project and contract management and working closely with design teams, construction managers, engineering inspection firms, technical consultants, and key stakeholders. The firm will provide project control oversight by combining in-house expertise with specialized subconsultants to ensure smooth and timely execution.

Phase 1 of the terminal expansion includes approximately 200,000 square feet of new and remodeled terminal space, with a strong focus on improving passenger flow and overall airport experience. Enhancements will include the consolidation of security checkpoint operations to reduce wait times, better connectivity between concourses, increased airside concessions, and the addition of new passenger amenities—all while maintaining the airport’s distinct architectural and aesthetic character.
“We are honoured to support the Lee County Port Authority to ensure the successful delivery of Phase 1 of the transformative Terminal Expansion Project,” said Mark Fialkowski, president of Parsons Infrastructure North America.
“Our team is committed to applying our extensive expertise in airport infrastructure to enhance the passenger experience in Southwest Florida and to deliver solutions that enhance the region’s mobility and economic growth,” he added.
Parsons is a well-established name in global infrastructure, defense, and intelligence services. The company has a strong track record in aviation, having worked on more than 450 airports across 40 countries, providing services that range from planning and design to construction and ongoing maintenance. Parsons also maintains compliance with regulatory standards set by agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
This project represents another significant airport infrastructure win for Parsons, which recently secured a $53 million, three-year contract with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) in Saudi Arabia in December 2024. That project involves urban planning and development services in one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing capital cities.
In Fort Myers, the RSW terminal expansion is a key part of the airport’s long-term master plan to accommodate growing passenger traffic, modernize facilities, and support economic development across Southwest Florida. The region has experienced a sharp rise in air travel demand in recent years, driven by tourism, business travel, and population growth.
As the Phase 1 expansion moves forward, Parsons' experience in large-scale, high-stakes infrastructure programs is expected to play a critical role in the successful and timely delivery of this transformative project.
