ENGLEWOOD — The demolition of the Crews Bank & Trust branch at 1111 S. McCall Road in Englewood is ongoing, while the Arcadia North branch at 400 N. Brevard Ave. nears completion. Both locations are expected to be fully constructed by late 2025 or early 2026, as reported this month.
“This is a very big day for our community,” said Joe Cataldo, Area President for Englewood and Boca Grande markets, in a news release. “It’s a new chapter for us; it’s exciting. We look forward to continuing to serve our community in our new state-of-the-art branch.”
The Englewood branch, once known as Englewood Bank, has been a hub for the local community since its establishment in the 1980s. “This is where I started my banking career 22 years ago,” said Chief Banking Officer Larry McLaren. “It’s a full-circle moment to watch the building come down due to the damage from Hurricane Ian, and I’m extremely excited for the new building that’s going to replace it. I can’t wait to be able to work from here again.”
Before demolition began, the Englewood Area Fire Control District utilized the storm-damaged branch for training exercises.
During the construction period, both the Englewood and Arcadia locations will continue to offer drive-thru services. The Englewood branch drive-thru is also offering walk-up services, accessible from Bay Heights Road off South McCall Road. In Arcadia, customers can use the drive-thru at 335 N. Brevard Ave.
