Progress toward gender equity continues to be a significant issue in the workplace, despite the many challenges that women continue to face. From the ongoing wage gap and unconscious biases to underrepresentation in leadership positions and workplace harassment, women still navigate a professional environment that demands resilience and advocacy at every turn.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, women working full-time year-round are paid only 84 percent of what men earn on average. This percentage has remained stagnant for over a decade, highlighting the persistent challenges of gender pay disparities. However, the tide is changing, as a growing number of organizations are committing to creating inclusive, supportive environments for women to succeed.

Newsweek, in collaboration with Plant-A Insights Group, is proud to present America's Greatest Workplaces for Women 2025, a ranking that honors those companies excelling in their commitment to gender equity in the workplace. The list recognizes 1,000 organizations across the U.S. that have gone above and beyond in fostering diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplaces for women.
This comprehensive study evaluated companies on multiple factors, including diversity management, sustainability, compensation, benefits, training and career advancement, work-life balance, company culture, and corporate reputation. The research was based on publicly available data, confidential online surveys from women employees, and discussions with HR professionals.
Companies like Behavioral Health Works, LEGO, Insurance Office of America, Jack Henry & Associates, and WEC Energy Group made the prestigious list. These organizations were recognized for their proactive approach to gender equity, ensuring that women employees are supported with career development opportunities, equitable compensation, and a safe, inclusive work environment.
By highlighting these companies, America's Greatest Workplaces for Women 2025 aims to set a new benchmark for others to follow in terms of gender equity and work environment standards. The list also serves as a valuable resource for women who are seeking employers who share their values and career goals.
"We hope this ranking will continue to push organizations to prioritize gender equality and act as a source of inspiration for both companies and job seekers," said a representative from Newsweek. "Our goal is to shine a light on the leaders who are making a real difference in advancing gender equity in the workplace."
As we look ahead, it’s clear that there is still work to be done in achieving true equality for women in the workplace. However, these 1,000 companies are proving that progress is possible, and they are leading the charge in breaking down barriers to a more equitable professional future.
The recognition of companies that foster environments for women’s success comes at a crucial time. With the rise of workplace diversity initiatives, inclusive hiring practices, and more robust support systems for women, the workplace is changing for the better. Yet, many industries still have a long way to go to ensure that women are equally represented, especially in leadership roles.
Several of the companies on this year’s list have introduced groundbreaking policies such as flexible working hours, paid family leave, mentorship programs, and initiatives to combat sexual harassment and bias. These companies are setting new standards in how workplaces should treat their employees, particularly women, and are taking concrete steps toward closing the gender gap.
As companies continue to innovate and evolve, we expect to see more organizations following the lead of those featured on America's Greatest Workplaces for Women 2025, working toward a future where every woman has an equal opportunity to thrive professionally.
