Wawa has begun construction on its first store in West Virginia, located in the Inwood community, with a groundbreaking ceremony earlier this week. This marks the convenience store chain's expansion into the Mountain State, with plans to open the location in early 2025.
“We are thrilled to continue growing in new markets to provide the community with our one-of-a-kind offer and commitment to supporting the community,” said Wawa Vice President of Real Estate, John Poplawski.
Currently, Wawa operates over 1,060 stores across eight states and Washington, D.C. The company is also planning to build three to five new stores in West Virginia over the next few years, with potential expansion into Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, and Tennessee.
