U.S. EMBASSY DONATES VITAL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT TO MOUNTAINOUS REGIONS
Today, the U.S. Embassy in Georgia held a donation ceremony for heavy construction equipment to the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region. Local government municipalities can immediately improve road access for residents and emergency vehicles by use of the front-end loader and backhoe equipment. This equipment assists local residents in some of the most difficult terrain and weather conditions in Georgia. In case of natural disasters like the Shovi landslide in August, the equipment can be used to save lives by clearing debris during rescue operations. The United States will donate more heavy construction pieces to the region in the next year.
