Turner Construction has successfully reached a milestone in its $260 million renovation of C Concourse at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The contractor completed the vertical construction of the 226,000-square-foot structure, topping out the steel on the six-story project, according to a December 20 news release.

The renovation adds four levels to the existing building, enhancing the passenger experience with expanded dining and retail options, additional seating, and a 1,300-square-foot extension to the passenger waiting area. Key amenities include a rooftop photovoltaic array, a meditation room, a nursing room, and two airfield observation decks.

While the project initially targeted LEED Silver certification, Turner announced that it is on track to achieve LEED Gold status, thanks to its integration of energy-efficient systems and sustainable elements.

“This project exemplifies how we can construct essential infrastructure that benefits both travelers and the environment,” said Bill Ketcham, vice president and general manager at Turner, in the release.

The project is expected to be substantially completed by 2026.
