Solar-Storage Microgrid Project Begins at Best Contracting HQ
Best Contracting Services has begun constructing a 264-kW solar-storage microgrid at its headquarters in Gardena, California. This system will generate over 460 MWh of carbon-free energy annually, offsetting 425 metric tons of CO2 emissions. The microgrid will also power 19 electric vehicle charging stations, further supporting clean energy initiatives.
“This project reflects our vision for a sustainable, resilient future,” said CEO Sean Taba. “By integrating renewable energy with EV infrastructure, we are not only lowering our carbon footprint but also supporting the growing need for clean transportation solutions in our community.”
The solar-storage system will power both company operations and the 19 charging stations for employees and visitors. The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year.
Commercial and industrial microgrids are becoming an integral part of on-site power solutions, with projects like HES Renewables’ 1-MW solar array at Ballast Point Brewery in San Diego, and GreenStruxure’s microgrids for Bimbo Bakeries USA across California.
