SAN FRANCISCO, October 24, 2024 – OpenSpace, a global leader in 360° reality capture and AI-powered analytics for the construction industry, has announced a suite of new features designed to accelerate the execution of large-scale construction projects while improving the management of extended teams. With project sizes and complexities on the rise, OpenSpace’s latest enhancements aim to address the challenges posed by multiple sites, floors, users, and potential issues that arise during the construction process.

Among the key new features introduced are:

  • Quick Access to Overhead Captures: Users can now seamlessly view overhead images, whether taken from ceilings or other elevated locations, directly on sheets and through the OpenSpace mini-map.
  • Multi-Floor Capture Enhancements: A new "Next sheet" feature facilitates efficient multi-floor captures by automatically transferring data to OpenSpace during capture walks, streamlining the process as users move between floors.
  • Flexible 360° Capture Management: Users now have the flexibility to upload 360° capture files directly from cameras or SD card readers to the web, expanding capture options beyond the OpenSpace app. Admins can also manage captures by deleting them through the admin console.
  • Enhanced User Management: OpenSpace has simplified user management with streamlined features like single sign-on (SSO) and integrations with major construction management platforms. Admins can bulk delete users, and Procore users can directly import their Procore users and sheets into OpenSpace projects.
  • Improved Field Coordination with Zones and Field Notes Explorer: New “Zones” functionality allows notes to be categorized by specific project areas, such as rooms, sectors, or project phases. Field Notes Explorer provides enhanced issue management capabilities, including bulk status updates, task assignments, and report generation, helping teams stay organized and efficient.
  • Field Notes Integrations with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Revizto: Field Notes now integrates with Autodesk Build, allowing customers to create RFIs and Issues in ACC with one click. Users of OpenSpace BIM+ can also create Revizto Issues from Field Notes, including 360 images for quick on-site assessments.
  • Multi-Platform Integration Flexibility: OpenSpace projects now support syncing with multiple platforms, including Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, PlanGrid, and Revizto. This allows users to seamlessly import and export data across platforms, facilitating more comprehensive project management.
  • OpenSpace Usage API for Data Insights: OpenSpace has introduced a new Usage API, allowing teams to pull capture data into business intelligence tools like PowerBI for quick tracking of usage patterns, coverage gaps, and trend analysis.

As Neel Sheth, VP of Product at OpenSpace, explains, "Scale and reliability have become top product priorities as the number of OpenSpace users has grown to exceed 250,000, and the space our customers are capturing has accelerated to 37 billion square feet. We have always strived to help our customers get work done quickly and easily in OpenSpace, and these latest features support that focus—particularly for our largest clients and those handling highly complex projects."

These new capabilities reflect OpenSpace’s ongoing commitment to improving efficiency, collaboration, and project management for construction teams of all sizes, especially those managing extensive and complicated projects. As the industry continues to evolve, OpenSpace is providing the tools needed to keep pace with growing demands and project complexity.
