Health West to Open New Pharmacy in Pocatello This Spring

Caroline Raffetto

Health West is excited to announce the upcoming construction of a new pharmacy at their Pocatello location, located at 1000 N. 8th Ave. The pharmacy, set to open later this spring, will offer a range of services similar to those provided at other Health West pharmacies, designed to enhance patient convenience and care.

The pharmacy will feature an in-house service, allowing patients to pick up prescriptions immediately after appointments or return later for refills. Additionally, Health West pharmacists will offer medication counseling, working closely with patients and their providers to promote a team approach to healthcare.

In support of patient convenience, Health West will provide home delivery for medications, eliminating the need for in-person visits. The pharmacy will also feature a prescription management app, enabling patients to manage their prescriptions, transfer medications, track progress, or communicate directly with a pharmacist.

To assist with affordability, Health West offers a sliding scale program that reduces prescription and medical care costs based on income and household size. These discounts can be applied after insurance, including Medicare.

“We’re excited to expand our services and offer more healthcare options to the Pocatello community,” said Mindy Benedetti, CEO of Health West. “Our new pharmacy will provide essential support and care to our patients right in the heart of the city.”

The new pharmacy will also create a collaborative environment where pharmacists can work directly with healthcare providers to ensure proper prescription management and educate patients on medication use. Studies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that such collaborations improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.

“Pharmacies are a vital community resource,” added Brady Brower, Director of Pharmacy at Health West. “We’re proud to bring this critical service to Pocatello, where it will help improve health outcomes for all our patients.”

Health West is a nonprofit, federally funded health center providing a wide range of healthcare services, including medical, pediatric, OB/GYN, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health care. The organization uses a sliding fee scale based on income and household size to ensure affordability for all patients.
