Garden Communities Launches Providence Place, Luxury Development

Caroline Raffetto

Construction is progressing on schedule at Providence Place in New Providence, New Jersey, as rental townhomes are framed and covered at the newly named, 192-residence luxury development. The 27-acre project, Garden Communities' first new multifamily option in the borough in decades, is set for a Spring 2025 delivery. Located on Spring Street, the community is just half a mile from N.J. Transit’s Murray Hill station.

“We’re thrilled to be under roof ahead of winter weather,” said Tony DiGiovanni of Garden Communities, the project's developer. “Excitement continues to build as we see this transit-friendly development taking shape in the heart of desirable New Providence. As the only modern product of its kind, Providence Place will bring a new rental option for long-time residents looking to downsize as well as newcomers to this dynamic community.”

The townhomes at Providence Place will feature private driveways and garages, while apartments will offer covered parking. The entire property is surrounded by lush trees and paved paths, creating a suburban atmosphere.

Providence Place’s prime location adds to its appeal. New Providence was ranked No. 12 on Niche.com’s 2024 list of "Best Places to Live in New Jersey," the highest ranking in Union County. Residents will enjoy close proximity to the borough's downtown, Watchung Reservation, and numerous parks. Neighboring towns include Berkeley Heights, Summit, Chatham, and Short Hills. The property is also within a half-mile of New Providence’s top-rated middle and high schools, as well as Allen W. Roberts Elementary School.

Garden Communities, based in Short Hills, N.J., is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2024. Known for its high-end multifamily developments, the company has a robust pipeline that will bring dozens of new communities to the tri-state area in the coming years. Recognized for its hands-on approach, Garden Communities prioritizes meeting the needs of modern renters.
