BATON ROUGE — A new opportunity is now open for Louisiana high school students to apply for a $1,000 scholarship to assist them in jumpstarting their careers in the construction industry.

The 2025 Jumpstart Construction Connect Scholars Program launched on February 11, offering a chance for students to receive financial support as they embark on a career path within the high-demand construction field. Designed to help students make an early entry into the workforce, the program provides an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills and experience.

College Scholarship Offers
“This program will give students the tools they need to enter the construction industry and start earning sooner,” said a representative of the program. “We want to encourage students to explore careers in construction, an industry that is growing rapidly and offers many well-paying job opportunities.”

Upon graduation, students will have the chance to enroll in one of two construction training programs, offered during the summer or fall months. These training programs aim to give students practical knowledge and skills that will prepare them for success in various sectors of the construction industry.

The scholarship and training programs are part of an initiative to meet the growing demand for skilled workers in Louisiana’s construction sector. With significant projects underway throughout the state, the need for trained professionals has never been higher. This scholarship is a step toward addressing that need by ensuring that students have access to the resources and education they need to thrive in the industry.

“We are excited to see the potential of these young students and to help them take the first step toward a rewarding career in construction,” said another spokesperson for the program. “This scholarship can be a game-changer, especially for students who are eager to work with their hands and build a future in a field that offers stability and long-term growth.”

The scholarship application deadline is April 22. Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. For further details and to apply, click here.
