Outbuild Raises $11 Million in Series A Funding to Drive Global Construction Project Success
SAN FRANCISCO — (November 12, 2024) – Outbuild, a leading provider of construction scheduling and planning software, has successfully raised $11 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Sway Ventures, with participation from Hilti Ventures, Trimble Ventures, BGV, and Zacua Ventures. This new capital will enable Outbuild to accelerate its growth, with plans to double its commercial reach by Fall 2025, expand its team, and enhance its product offerings, including the integration of artificial intelligence.
“We are honored to partner with such a distinguished group of investors who share our commitment to transforming the construction industry with innovative, yet simplified solutions for scheduling and cross-team collaboration,” said Franco Giaquinto, CEO of Outbuild. “This funding represents a pivotal milestone in our mission to help construction professionals deliver better project outcomes.”
The construction industry has long struggled with delays and budget overruns, with KPMG research revealing that 75% of projects face delays, resulting in significant cost overruns and missed deadlines. Outbuild was founded to address these pressing issues, offering a unified platform that consolidates scheduling, lookaheads, weekly plans, and analytics into one streamlined solution.
With backing from industry leaders like Hilti and Trimble, Outbuild plans to enhance its platform with advanced functionalities that enable real-time project planning and management. Additionally, the expertise of Sway Ventures, BGV, and Zacua Ventures in scaling enterprise technology startups will help Outbuild expand its market presence and continue driving innovation in the construction sector.
“Outbuild is tackling one of the most persistent challenges in the construction industry—keeping projects on schedule and within budget while minimizing risk,” said Brian Nugent, Founding General Partner of Sway Ventures. “Their approach to scheduling and team collaboration is poised to fundamentally change how the industry manages project planning and execution.”
Outbuild’s software is already being utilized on over 4,000 construction projects across 10 countries. Prominent general contractors such as Greystar, Andres, McAlvain, Skender, and Warfel have adopted Outbuild’s platform to streamline project management processes.
“Outbuild really stands out for its ability to bring everything together in one place,” said Ben Stocker, Senior Construction Technologist at Skender. “The seamless integration between the schedule and the look-ahead plan, combined with mobile accessibility, makes it easy for our teams to share and collaborate on project timelines.”
