On January 30th, American Global hosted its 11th annual fundraising event and soccer tournament, marking a key milestone as the firm enters its second decade in business. The event, newly branded as the Miami C3 Summit, gathered over 400 carriers, clients, and colleagues. This year’s fundraiser raised more than $150,000 in support of the YMCA of South Florida, surpassing the previous year's record by more than three times.

The summit’s day kicked off with an engaging panel discussion on “Evolving Technologies: AI in Construction.” The distinguished panel featured Hamzah Shanbari, Director of Innovation at Haskell, and Jake Landreneau, Vice President of Innovation at Juneau Construction Company. They were joined by industry experts including Douglas Schrift, Chief Underwriting Officer at Liberty Mutual, and Ryan Powers, SVP and Head of Construction at QBE. American Global’s Vice President of Innovation & Insights, Chris Greene, moderated the panel and Q&A session, sparking valuable conversations about the impact of AI on the construction industry.
After the panel, guests headed to a local soccer stadium for a lively tournament featuring 16 teams, including new “free agent” players and a talented YMCA squad. American Global’s team (AG1) made it to the semifinals for the third year in a row but lost a tight match to the eventual 2025 Champions, Chubb. The day also featured food trucks, networking, and plenty of team-building activities, all contributing to the event's incredible atmosphere.
A standout feature of this year’s event was the opportunity for sponsors to contribute to special donation “sponsorships.” Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the sponsors, fundraising efforts quickly gained momentum, with donations reaching over $40,000 almost immediately. Key sponsors included:
Conference Sponsor
Railroad Construction Company
Breakfast Sponsor
Chubb

GC COM Construction Company
Cocktail Sponsor

Food Truck Sponsor

YMCA COO Tara Montenaro shared her appreciation: “By partnering with us, you are helping kids build confidence, character, and a brighter future. We’re truly grateful for your commitment to making a lasting impact in their lives. Thank you for believing in the power of youth development. Together, we’re making a real difference.”
The closing cocktail reception, held along the scenic Miami River, provided attendees with another opportunity to network and reflect on the day’s highlights. The evening’s final moment came when American Global CEO Michael Marino expressed his gratitude for the attendees’ support. He announced two additional donations of $15,000 each, generously contributed by NV2A and GC COM (also a tournament sponsor). With American Global’s dollar-for-dollar match of $58,000, the total raised exceeded $150,000—more than triple last year’s record donation of $50,000.
“This past year, American Global has experienced tremendous growth across our organization, and that growth is clearly reflected in the increased turnout and contributions at this summit. We are proud to host an event that brings us together for a day of education, team-building, and community, while also shining a light on the incredible generosity of those in the construction industry. We thank everyone who made this event a success and look forward to an even greater event in 2026!” said Marino.
