WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Houzz Inc., a top platform for home remodeling and design, has introduced two new AI-powered features within its Houzz Pro software, aiming to make pre-construction workflows more efficient and visually impactful for both professionals and their clients.
The updates center around the 3D Floor Plan tool, now enhanced with artificial intelligence to convert 2D plans into editable 3D models and to transform product photos into 3D visual assets.
“Pros want their 3D floor plans to include the exact products that they are specifying, and Houzz Pro now enables them to do so by turning a 2D product photo into a 3D model,” said Alon Cohen, Houzz co-founder and CEO. “With these new AI-powered updates, pros can transform their ideas into client-ready designs in just a few clicks—driving sales, streamlining approvals, boosting client confidence and bringing their ideas to life faster than ever.”
These new tools are part of Houzz Pro’s AutoMate AI suite and are integrated directly into the platform. The first feature allows pros to upload a 2D floor plan, which AutoMate AI automatically traces to identify architectural elements like walls, windows, and doors. The result is an editable 3D Floor Plan that can be tailored to client specifications and presented in multiple modes—including dollhouse, walkthrough, and augmented reality (AR) through the Houzz Pro mobile app.
The second feature turns static product images into dynamic 3D models. Users can pull items from their Houzz Pro product library, upload them directly, or use the Houzz Pro Clipper to grab items from external sources. AutoMate AI then converts those items into 3D models that can be placed directly into a project layout.
These enhancements aim to give contractors and designers a faster, more precise way to visualize and present project ideas—ultimately helping clients understand design options and make decisions with greater confidence.
The 3D Floor Plan tool is fully integrated into the Houzz Pro system, meaning designs can be instantly linked to Selections, added to the Client Dashboard, or converted into Estimates and shared with clients in just a few clicks.
Houzz Pro continues to offer a suite of cloud-based tools for managing the full lifecycle of a remodeling or construction project—including Takeoffs, Invoicing, Online Payments, and more—all designed to boost efficiency and profitability for industry professionals.
