Fleming Steel Erectors Earns National Recognition with AC478 Accreditation

TULSA, Okla. — Fleming Steel Erectors (FSE), a division of the Fleming Construction Group, has officially become the first metal building assembler based in Oklahoma to earn the prestigious AC478 accreditation from the International Accreditation Service (IAS), as announced by the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA).

This significant milestone affirms FSE’s commitment to excellence in metal building construction. The AC478 accreditation sets a national benchmark for quality and safety, evaluating companies based on stringent requirements such as comprehensive management systems, thorough safety training protocols, OSHA compliance, quality management practices, and documentation of site-specific plans.

A Standard of Excellence

The AC478 program was designed to recognize companies that demonstrate consistency, capability, and compliance in their operations. According to MBCEA, FSE’s accreditation reflects its ability to assemble metal buildings that meet industry codes, specifications, and timelines—while maintaining cost efficiency and high safety standards.

“With your branding and reputation of ‘Taking the “Division” out of Division 13’ underscored by ‘ready to deliver the experience…’, we are honored to welcome you to the exclusive group of AC478 Accredited members,” said MBCEA President Robert Tiffin. “We look forward to your success and industry contributions. Personally, I am thrilled to learn from you and will look forward to those opportunities.”

Pride in the Team

Leadership at Fleming Construction Group sees the certification as a reflection of the team’s values and hard work.

“To be recognized as an AC478 accredited company is a huge milestone and a reflection of the entire FSE team’s professionalism and dedication to their craft,” said Justin Willett, President of Fleming Construction Group. “I couldn’t be prouder of our team and their commitment to quality and safety.”

A Legacy in Steel Construction

FSE has a long-standing reputation for excellence in steel erection, partnering with general contractors to complete complex Division 13 pre-engineered metal building (PEMB), conventional, and hybrid steel projects ranging in size from 25,000 to over 1.5 million square feet. With more than 120 million square feet of steel erected across the United States, FSE brings deep industry expertise from both the manufacturing and job site perspectives.

Supporting the Industry’s Future

Founded in 1968, MBCEA serves contractors and erectors through education, advocacy, and grassroots support. The association plays a critical role in promoting safety and quality within the metal building industry, helping companies like FSE achieve new levels of professional recognition.
