COLUMBIA, Mo. — On November 30, the University of Missouri officially broke ground on a $250 million renovation of its iconic Memorial Stadium, following a unanimous Board of Curators approval in September. This major project is set to enhance the fan experience, adding a variety of premium seating options.

This expansive renovation, the largest in the stadium’s history, was attended by board members, campus leaders, donors, and project team representatives, all of whom highlighted the long-term significance of the project and the importance of collaboration.

“On Saturday we celebrated the beginning of a new chapter for Memorial Stadium,” said Laird Veatch, director of athletics, in a University statement. “This renovation reflects the incredible energy and momentum surrounding Mizzou Athletics. We are grateful to everyone who made this possible, led by our Board of Curators and President Choi. This is not just a stadium renovation — it’s a statement of our aspirations for the future and our ‘Will to Win.’”

Designed by global firm DLR Group and constructed by Baltimore-based Whiting Turner, the renovation will include 160,500 square feet of new space, with 98,000 square feet dedicated to adding 2,000 premium seats. The project also features a new multi-level northern concourse, modernized concessions, upgraded restrooms, and a new entry plaza.

Notable additions include 14 outdoor, field-level suites that offer the closest views of the action on Faurot Field. Each suite, which accommodates 16 fans, provides direct access to the Rock M Club with food, beverages, and restrooms.

The renovation will also include 150 loge boxes on the east and west sides of the north end zone, each with built-in tables for four, various food options, and access to the Rock M Club. Additionally, 28 premium suites with a capacity for 20 fans each will be located on the second level of the north end zone, offering both indoor and outdoor viewing experiences with food and beverage service.

Other additions include Mezzanine Club Seats for parties of two, and 24 covered suites with seating for 12, each equipped with amenities such as televisions, electric fireplaces, soft seating, and food and beverage service.

The project is expected to be completed in time for the 2026 football season, coinciding with the centennial anniversary of Memorial Stadium’s first game.

“Memorial Stadium has long been a symbol of pride for Missourians,” said University of Missouri President Mun Choi. “This project reaffirms our commitment to achieving excellence both on and off the field. It’s an investment in the future of our university, our student-athletes, and for Missourians.”
