Tutor Perini Corporation has announced that its joint venture with O&G is in the process of finalizing a contract for the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility in Manhattan as part of the City of New York’s Borough-Based Jail System.

LOS ANGELES  – Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), a leading civil, building, and specialty construction company, revealed today that the Tutor Perini-O&G Joint Venture is preparing to execute the contract documents for the previously announced Manhattan Jail Project in New York. The City of New York recently hosted a public hearing about the proposed contract between the New York City Department of Design and Construction and the Tutor Perini-O&G JV. The anticipated contract value for the project is $3.76 billion, with a project term extending 2,646 consecutive calendar days (approximately seven years and three months) until completion.

The scope of the project involves the design and construction of a new, advanced facility. The new jail will include dedicated spaces for on-site services and programming, as well as indoor and outdoor recreation areas, food services, staff offices, and other amenities. The facility will have below-grade parking with 125 accessory parking spaces designated for staff and service providers, as well as a secured entry. Additionally, the facility will include 20,000 square feet of community and commercial space located on the ground floor.

The facility will provide 1,040 beds and is designed to meet the city’s evolving infrastructure needs for its jail system.

Tutor Perini is serving as the managing partner in the joint venture, with O&G holding a 25% share. The joint venture’s design partner for the project is HOK.

The project’s contract value was added to Tutor Perini’s backlog during the fourth quarter of 2024.
