Turner Construction Company Foundation Receives DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant for Workforce Development in Tennessee

The Turner Construction Company Foundation is proud to be named a recipient of the DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant, recognizing its impactful Skill Builders Program in Tennessee. This initiative is part of Turner’s broader commitment to workforce development and creating opportunities in the skilled trades across the United States.

As the construction industry faces an estimated 500,000 unfilled jobs, the DEWALT Grow the Trades Grants aim to bridge the skilled labor gap by supporting organizations that focus on skilling, reskilling, and upskilling tradespeople. Each year, the program provides funding and tool donations as part of DEWALT’s $30 million commitment over five years to help address this critical workforce shortage.

Turner Construction Company Foundation was selected as one of 166 organizations that are helping to provide greater access to trades training. The Skill Builders Program is a strategic collaboration between the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology Nashville, Turner Construction Company, Metro Nashville Public Schools, PENCIL, and the Tennessee Titans. This initiative is designed to advance vocational skills training and promote the growth of trade careers, with a goal of impacting over 40,000 students by offering certifications, training, and critical resources.

“We are honored to be selected as a recipient of the DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant. This recognition reinforces our commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive workforce for the construction industry,” said Christa Andresky, Turner Construction Company Foundation Board Member. “By investing in training and development, we can help close the skills gap and create lasting opportunities for individuals in the communities where we work. Together with our partners, Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology and DEWALT, we are helping to ensure the future of the trades is diverse, skilled, and ready to meet the challenges ahead."

The grant funding will support a range of initiatives that align with the Foundation’s core values: active caring, workforce readiness, and inclusion.

“DEWALT is immensely proud to support The Turner Construction Company Foundation as they work to skill and reskill the tradespeople of tomorrow, moving us closer to our shared goal of closing the trade skills gap,” said Frank Mannarino, President and General Manager of DEWALT. “Funding educational programs and non-profits like Turner Construction Company Foundation connects more people to training, resources, and opportunities that will lead to successful careers in the trades.”
