Turner Construction Company has announced several key leadership promotions aimed at supporting the company’s ongoing growth, fostering innovation, and further integrating its service offerings. The changes reflect Turner’s commitment to maintaining strong leadership as it navigates an expanding portfolio of projects and diversifies into new markets.

Tom Reilly and Abrar Sheriff Named Presidents of Business Divisions

Tom Reilly and Abrar Sheriff have been promoted to Presidents, with Reilly overseeing Turner’s Enterprise Services and Sheriff leading the Construction Services division. Peter Davoren, Chairman and CEO of Turner, stated, “Abrar and Tom’s leadership enhances our capacity to deliver seamless, integrated solutions on our projects and to our clients.”

Leadership Expansion to Support Growth

In addition to Reilly and Sheriff, Turner has promoted eight leaders to Managing Director, a key position within the company’s Executive Management Group. These individuals will play a crucial role in shaping strategy, guiding project execution, and supporting Turner’s ambitious expansion efforts. The new Managing Directors include Rick Bach, Chris Beck, Meaghan Hooper-Berdik, Ben Kaplan, Brian Mooney, Matt Papenfus, David Robinson, and Aaron Wiebelhaus.

New Chief Administrative Officer Appointed

Turner also announced the promotion of Lisa Ballantyne to the newly created role of Chief Administrative Officer. Ballantyne will oversee critical functions at the company’s headquarters, ensuring that employees have the necessary resources to succeed, while also driving strategic initiatives to achieve Turner’s long-term goals.

Supporting Turner’s Expanding Backlog

Turner’s growth trajectory continues as the company’s backlog exceeds $33 billion, with an increasing number of projects valued at over $100 million. As the complexity of Turner’s projects grows, so too does the need for enhanced capabilities and services. Sheriff remarked, “As our projects grow in size and complexity, we are constantly advancing our capabilities. As we do that, we will continue our active caring culture that prioritizes the health and wellbeing of the worker above all else.”

Expanding Enterprise Services and Global Reach

Reilly noted that Turner will expand its SourceBlue, Turner Engineering Group, Self-Perform Operations, and other service offerings to meet client demands. He added, “We will expand SourceBlue, the Turner Engineering Group, our Self-Perform Operations, and other innovative services. Our project-focused approach will bring Turner’s enterprise service solutions to new markets and clients.” Reilly also highlighted Turner’s acquisition of Dornan Engineering Group, an Ireland-based company active in advanced technology projects across Europe, as a significant move in support of the company’s international expansion.

A Focus on New Growth Markets

Turner’s expansion strategy targets emerging markets, particularly data centers, semiconductors, energy transition, industrial, and biopharma sectors. These industries are expected to represent 40% of Turner’s portfolio in the near future. Davoren commented, “Our leadership structure is in place to capture the best of those opportunities for our people and company. SourceBlue has grown significantly over the past 20 years in North America and is now serving clients globally in partnership with ACS Group companies.” Turner’s integrated solutions model is already operational in Europe, where the company is providing construction and SourceBlue services on major projects.

Seamless Integration and Career Opportunities

Turner’s integrated approach not only strengthens its position in the marketplace but also provides exciting career development opportunities for employees. The company’s innovative methods and collaborative culture ensure that clients benefit from top-tier technical expertise, with resources shared seamlessly across Turner’s global network.

Peter Davoren will continue his leadership role as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Turner and will maintain his position as Chairman of Flatiron-Dragados in North America. Reilly and Sheriff will remain integral members of Turner’s Executive Leadership Team, alongside Christa Andresky (Executive Vice President and CFO), Roe Demonte (Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer), and Mike Kuntz (Executive Vice President, responsible for strategy and advancing Turner’s presence in new technology markets).
