Here’s a look at some of the significant commercial and residential permits issued between November 8-15 for Orleans Parish, and November 8-21 for Jefferson and St. Tammany Parishes.

A major project is taking place at 416 Chartres St. in Orleans Parish, where renovations are underway for the building that was once home to K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen. A $5.5 million investment is being made to adapt the existing structure for a new use.

Previously, this property was intended to house Boulangerie, a venture by hotelier and restaurateur Robert Thompson, which was expected to open in 2023. However, the building was sold in late 2023. Ryan Gootee General Contractors (RGGC) is managing the renovation efforts.

Additionally, RGGC continues its work on Caesars New Orleans Hotel & Casino, having recently been issued nearly $2.4 million in permits to install a new signature bar.

Dillard University is progressing with the construction of a new dormitory at 4101 Norman Mayer Ave., where $3.8 million in permits for electrical systems has been issued. Ryan Carl Orgeron remains the contractor for the project.

At the New Orleans Museum of Art, mechanical and electrical work will be carried out, totaling almost $1.4 million, with Frischertz Elec Co. handling the tasks.
