Augusta, ME – A leader in Maine’s construction industry has officially joined the governing board of the state’s community college system. Stacey Harris, general superintendent at Consigli Construction Co., Inc., has been appointed to the Maine Community College System (MCCS) board of trustees.
Harris's appointment was made by Governor Janet Mills and confirmed by the Maine Senate, adding an experienced voice from the construction sector to a board that is actively working to strengthen Maine’s workforce and vocational programs.
In her role at Consigli’s Portland office, Harris oversees field operations and leads large-scale commercial construction projects across various industries. Her project portfolio includes significant developments at some of Maine’s most prominent institutions of higher education.

Since joining Consigli in 2016, Harris has managed major projects such as the Ferland Engineering and Design Center at the University of Maine, the Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts at Colby College, and Bowdoin College’s Center for Arctic Studies and Barry Mills Hall. Before her time at Consigli, she worked as a superintendent for Turner Construction in Boston.
Harris’s deep ties to higher education go beyond her job. She has served on the board of directors for the University of Maine Alumni Association and for MedRhythms, a neuro-rehab company based in Portland. Passionate about encouraging women in STEM, she also collaborates regularly with local schools and workforce development initiatives.
A strong advocate for future generations in construction, Harris contributes to the ACE Mentor Program, connecting high school students with professionals in architecture, construction, and engineering. She is also a member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
Her academic background includes an MBA in global enterprise management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York and a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Maine.
The MCCS board of trustees is made up of 13 appointed voting members, along with one ex-officio voting and one ex-officio non-voting member. The board plays a key role in overseeing the strategic direction of the system’s seven community colleges, which collectively serve thousands of students across Maine.
“I am very pleased Stacey Harris has joined the MCCS board of trustees, particularly now, when training students to work in construction is so critical for the state," said MCCS President David Daigler. "Her experience, perspective, and guidance on how to grow and strengthen our trade programs will help us tremendously. The trades, and electrical programs in particular, are hugely popular with today’s students and we’re seeing incredible demand. Working closely with employers will ensure those students are ready to step into good jobs right away.”
Harris, a Maine native and proud alumna of the state’s public university system, said she’s excited to bring her experience and voice to the board.
“Having grown up in Maine and a proud graduate of its public university system, I am honored to join the MCCS board of trustees and help support efforts to expand educational opportunities for learners of all ages and build the future of Maine’s trades workforce,” said Harris. “Maine is filled with talented, hardworking individuals who are ready to develop hands-on skills and explore career paths like construction, and industry leadership and partnership is critical to ensuring that students have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom, on the jobsite and beyond.”
As Maine continues to face growing demand for skilled labor in fields like construction, electrical work, and other trades, Harris's presence on the MCCS board is expected to help align educational offerings with real-world job opportunities—ensuring Maine’s workforce is prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
