SPC Group, the South Korean conglomerate behind Paris Baguette, has confirmed the construction of a new bakery plant in Burleson, Texas, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy. The facility, slated for completion in the second half of 2027, will support the growing demand for Paris Baguette products across the U.S., Canada, and potentially Latin America.
The company has successfully acquired approximately 150,000 square meters (about 37 acres) of land in the Highpoint Business Park, a prime location in Burleson, Texas, part of the expansive Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This site offers strategic logistical advantages, allowing easy access to key markets in the U.S. and neighboring regions, positioning the plant for long-term success.
In addition to securing the land, SPC Group has received approval for its investment and grants from local authorities. The final step in the approval process came on January 27, 2025, when SPC Group President Huh Jin-soo and Diana Miller, Director of Economic Development for Johnson County, signed incentive agreements at the Johnson County courthouse. The total investment in the bakery plant is expected to reach $160 million.

The new bakery plant will be initially built to cover 17,000 square meters (approximately 4,900 square feet), with expansion plans to increase its size to 28,000 square meters (about 7,200 square feet) by 2030. With an anticipated annual production capacity of 500 million products, the facility will become a key player in meeting the rising demand for Paris Baguette’s bakery items in North America. Additionally, the plant is projected to create around 450 jobs, making it one of the top five employers in the Burleson area.
SPC Group’s move to Texas follows the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in North America. The bakery plant is expected to significantly enhance Paris Baguette’s operations, as the company currently operates over 210 stores across North America, with plans to grow its presence to 1,000 stores by 2030. The brand's rapid growth trajectory is supported by its consistently high rankings in major franchise assessments, including a recent 42nd place in Entrepreneur magazine’s “2025 Franchise 500” list.

Beyond its expansion in the U.S. market, the Texas facility will play a pivotal role in supporting Paris Baguette's broader global strategy. As the company continues to expand its footprint in the region, it plans to open over 100 new stores this year, extending its presence from 29 to 35 states. The bakery plant will also serve as a training center for local franchise owners, helping to ensure quality standards and consistency across all Paris Baguette locations in North America.
The plant’s location in Texas, with its access to global shipping routes and key U.S. markets, will allow SPC Group to optimize production and logistics efficiency, improving product quality while reducing lead times. To further support its North American operations, SPC Group plans to leverage SPC Samlip, a subsidiary that has been actively involved in exporting Korean food products like steamed buns, cream buns, and sweets to North America. This will help localize SPC Group’s strategy and strengthen synergies across its global operations.
SPC Group President Huh Jin-soo highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion, stating, "The establishment of a local plant in the U.S. will be a significant turning point for expanding our presence in North and Central America, the world's largest market. We will accelerate our local business strategy and work hard to promote the excellence of K-food in international markets."
The bakery plant is expected to serve as a catalyst for future growth, boosting SPC Group's competitiveness in the North American market and beyond, while contributing to the continued success of Paris Baguette as one of the world’s leading bakery brands.
