GURNEE, Ill. (WLS) – The construction of Six Flags’ highly anticipated new roller coaster, the Wrath of Rakshasa, is advancing at a remarkable pace. Set to be the steepest and most inverted dive coaster in the world, this thrilling ride is poised to become a major attraction at the park.

The Wrath of Rakshasa will feature a staggering 96-degree, 171-foot drop, taking riders on an adrenaline-pumping plunge beyond vertical. This record-breaking drop is just one element of the coaster's dynamic design. This week, park officials announced a significant milestone in the project: the completion of the coaster's drop section, as pieces were lifted into place by the tower crane at the Gurnee location.

In addition to the thrilling drop, the roller coaster will race through five inversions, reaching speeds of up to 67 miles per hour. Fans and thrill-seekers alike are eagerly awaiting the ride’s debut in 2025, which will be located in the County Fair section of Six Flags Great America.
