BEND, Ore. — Starting on April 9, a busy intersection in northeast Bend will be closed for a four-month construction project aimed at building a new roundabout.
The intersection at Deschutes Market Road and Yeoman Road, located near Pine Nursery Park, is currently a three-way stop with a sign at Yeoman Road. The new project will transform it into a four-way roundabout, with Yeoman Road being extended to the east.

Jacob Larsen, from the City of Bend, explained that the roundabout is being constructed by the developer of Petrosa, a growing residential community situated along Butler Market Road.
“This project is part of the ongoing development of the Petrosa neighborhood and is essential for improving traffic flow in this busy area,” Larsen said.
The intersection will be closed from April 9 to August 15, with readerboard signs currently posted at the site to alert drivers.
Larsen added, “The city will provide detour information on our website soon, so residents and drivers can plan their routes accordingly. For now, those heading to Pine Nursery Park will need to take NE Purcell Boulevard as an alternative route. Additionally, those traveling north from the closure who typically use Deschutes Market Road to get to Butler Market Road will likely need to reroute through Hamehook Road."
