MRA Group to Begin Marriott Residence Inn Construction at Chestnut Run
MRA Group, a real estate development and services firm, is set to begin construction on a Marriott Residence Inn at the Chestnut Run Innovation & Science Park (CRISP) campus in Wilmington, Delaware. In partnership with Gulf Creek Hotels, the hotel aims to enhance the 164-acre innovation campus's amenities.
Phil Butler, Executive Vice President and Partner at MRA Group, stated, “The new Residence Inn will be a valuable asset to the CRISP campus and a suitable hotel option for the wider Wilmington area."
The Residence Inn will feature 127 guest rooms, offering both short and long-term stays. It will include food services, a full-service bar, meeting spaces, and outdoor patio areas. This will be the first hotel built in the area in nearly three years and is expected to serve both business and leisure travelers.
The hotel will complement existing and planned campus amenities such as childcare and fitness centers, a bank, a restaurant, and outdoor recreational spaces. It will create a comprehensive experience for tenants, offering work, stay, and collaboration opportunities on the campus without the need to leave the area.
D2 Capital Advisors arranged the construction financing, with WSFS Bank, Nuveen Green Capital, and Sustainable Energy Utility Incorporated as lenders, underscoring MRA's commitment to energy-efficient building practices. The groundbreaking ceremony is set for early February
