MCA Revamps MCM System Fabricator Certification Program

Caroline Raffetto

The Metal Construction Association (MCA) recently announced the revitalization of its MCM System Fabricator Certification program, aiming to enhance industry standards.

This program allows companies that manufacture metal composite material (MCM) panels for architectural applications to earn certification by fulfilling specific criteria related to experience, services, MCM system performance, and financial stability.

According to MCA, obtaining this certification provides fabricators with a distinct competitive edge, enabling them to secure more prestigious projects and qualify for additional design specifications. Certified companies can also display the MCA Certified System Fabricator logo, with marketing support from the association to help promote this achievement.

“This certification program provides peace of mind to the building team,” explained Tom Seitz, executive director of MCA’s MCM Alliance. “The architect has peace of mind regarding the system’s design performance … the general contractor looks for peace of mind with the system installation, and the owner looks for peace of mind with the system’s longevity and functionality of their building façade.”

Currently, 13 companies are certified, and Seitz mentioned that MCA is focused on expanding awareness and participation in the program.
