The development, called Grandview Heights, consists of upscale townhouses being built by Laurel Communities in partnership with Infinity Custom Homes. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a brand-new home on Grandview Avenue," said Lorrie Crummie, sales manager for Laurel Communities. "This is the most sought-after location in Pittsburgh. Mt. Washington represents Pittsburgh."

According to Crummie, the last time similar new construction occurred on Mt. Washington was in the early 2000s.

The townhouses, designed by Rothschild Doyno Collaborative architects, offer buyers the chance to personalize interior elements like cabinetry, countertops, flooring, appliances, plumbing, and lighting fixtures.

Located on Grandview Avenue at Augusta Street, the townhome community spans to a parcel beyond Shaler Street and is being developed in three phases.

The first phase features nine townhomes, with closings expected in early 2026 and completion by summer 2026, Crummie shared. These pre-sold units are four stories tall and include a two-car garage. The second level offers an open floor plan with a spacious kitchen and great room. The third level can be customized with two or three bedrooms, while the top level includes an outdoor deck and can also be configured as a bedroom with an additional room, or one large room.

These homes can accommodate three to four bedrooms and between two and a half to four and a half bathrooms, with prices starting at $1.3 million for the first phase.

Phase two will feature 12 townhomes, with closings planned for the end of 2026 and completion in spring 2027, while phase three will offer six additional units at Shaler and Augusta streets. Pricing for the latter two phases has yet to be set.

An elevator option will be available in all three phases of the development.
