Linden City School District is making significant strides in enhancing the educational experience for its students by approving the construction of a new, multi-million-dollar high school. This state-of-the-art facility will offer a modern learning environment that incorporates the latest advancements in technology and security.
Superintendent Dr. Timothy Thurman is leading the charge for this transformative project, which is scheduled to break ground this spring. “Our students do great things. And I want them to have the newest of technology and, you know, safety,” Thurman said, emphasizing the importance of providing a school that can meet the challenges of today's world. The new high school will be built with the latest innovations to support academic growth, extracurricular activities, and student well-being.

The existing Linden High School, a landmark in the community for generations, no longer meets the demands of modern education. “When that building was built, they never would’ve imagined the time that we’re living in now,” Dr. Thurman explained, recognizing the significant changes that have occurred since its construction.
Local resident Brittany Johnson, whose family has a long history tied to the school, shared her excitement for the new building. “It’s been here since our parents and our parents’ parents. So, I think everybody is excited for it,” she said, noting the deep connection the community has to the high school and the anticipation for the new chapter.
The new facility is set to be completed within a year, with an expected opening in the spring of the following year. The estimated cost of construction is $7 million, and the project is seen as an investment in the future of the students and the city of Linden. This new high school is expected to provide a state-of-the-art education environment that will benefit students, teachers, and the community for generations to come.
