Kodiak Gas Services Launches Two New Texas Facilities

Kodiak Gas Services has officially broken ground on two major new facilities in Midland and Pecos, Texas, signaling a strategic expansion of its infrastructure and training capabilities across the Permian Basin. The initiative underscores Kodiak’s commitment to long-term growth, enhanced service capacity, and workforce development in one of the country’s most active energy regions.

Strategic Facility Development

The upcoming Midland facility is set to be a centerpiece for the company’s operations, occupying nearly 22 acres and featuring over 140,000 square feet of workspace. In addition to boosting compression capacity, the facility will host the new Bears Academy, an advanced training center for Kodiak employees. The academy will offer immersive, next-generation learning environments, including virtual reality labs and interactive classrooms aimed at raising industry standards in the contract compression field.

Construction is already underway, and the Midland site is scheduled to be completed by June 2026.

Meanwhile, the Pecos facility—spanning nine acres and more than 24,000 square feet of combined shop and office space—is positioned to strengthen Kodiak’s service network in West Texas, particularly for customers in the western Permian Basin. That site is expected to go online by December 2025.

A Long-Term Commitment to the Region

“Kodiak’s investment in these two locations is not just about buildings,” said Chad Lenamon, executive vice president and chief operations officer of Kodiak Gas Services. “The groundbreaking of our new facilities in Midland and Pecos marks an exciting next chapter in Kodiak’s journey across the Permian Basin. These projects represent our continued investment in our people, our customers, and the communities where we operate. We’re building for the future—with purpose and drive.”

Kodiak’s expansion aligns with a broader vision of enhancing efficiency and reliability in contract compression services—critical components in the movement and processing of natural gas throughout the U.S. energy infrastructure.

Supporting Critical Energy Infrastructure

Headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, Kodiak Gas Services provides compression solutions essential to the production, gathering, and transportation of natural gas. Its services support upstream producers and midstream infrastructure operators across gas gathering, processing, gas lift, and transmission systems.

The company’s growth trajectory has closely mirrored increased demand for energy infrastructure support, particularly in high-activity areas like the Permian Basin.

By combining facility upgrades with a commitment to cutting-edge employee training, Kodiak is positioning itself as a forward-thinking leader in the contract compression sector—one prepared to meet current industry demands and anticipate future challenges.
