Johnson Tractor Becomes Hyundai Dealer in Wisconsin

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America has officially announced a new addition to its dealership network: the La Crosse, Wisconsin, location of Johnson Tractor. The move marks a significant expansion in Hyundai’s distribution footprint across the upper Midwest, as the equipment manufacturer strengthens its presence in west central Wisconsin.

Johnson Tractor, a longtime agricultural and equipment dealer headquartered in Janesville, Wisconsin, will now offer Hyundai’s full line of construction equipment from its La Crosse branch. This includes excavators, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, and more.

“Adding Hyundai construction equipment gives us and our customers a great local option for the wheel loaders and excavators that we previously did not offer,” said Patrick Johnson, a manager at Johnson Tractor.

With a strong customer base across agriculture, construction, and municipal markets, Johnson Tractor is strategically positioned to serve growing demand in the region.

“West central Wisconsin is experiencing strong growth in construction, agriculture and municipal infrastructure, and Johnson Tractor is well positioned to meet the needs of this expanding market,” Johnson added.

Hyundai echoed those sentiments in its official announcement.

“Hyundai is pleased to add Johnson Tractor to our North American dealer roster,” said Ed Harseim, North Central district manager for HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America.
“In addition to its longstanding success as an ag equipment dealership, Johnson also is a trusted business partner among construction contractors and local government equipment users.”

Founded as Clinton Implement in Clinton, Wisconsin, Johnson Tractor evolved after Ray Johnson and his son, Leo, acquired the dealership and rebranded it. The company relocated its headquarters to Janesville in 1986 and has since expanded its operations throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. Today, Johnson Tractor operates 11 locations and continues to grow.

The dealership is now led by CEO Eric Reuterskiold, with members of the Johnson family still actively involved in day-to-day operations. This blend of family leadership and professional growth has allowed the company to remain both deeply rooted in local communities and responsive to modern equipment needs.

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America, headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, offers a wide range of heavy machinery tailored for construction, municipal, and industrial use. Its product lineup includes crawler and wheeled excavators, wheel loaders, compact track loaders, skid steer loaders, crawler dozers, articulated dump trucks, and hydraulic breakers.

By partnering with a well-established dealer like Johnson Tractor, Hyundai strengthens its distribution capabilities in a region poised for infrastructure and economic growth. For contractors, municipalities, and businesses in west central Wisconsin, this partnership opens up new access to advanced equipment and localized service support.
