JE Dunn Construction celebrates its centennial year and the 35th anniversary of its North Carolina offices with a focus on growth and philanthropy. Looking toward 2025, JE Dunn continues to embrace strategic expansion and deepens its commitment to the communities it serves.

With 180 team members in North Carolina, the Charlotte office is one of 26 across the U.S. The family- and employee-owned company has flourished by building strong partnerships and aligning the right tools with the right people to deliver exceptional results. JE Dunn is known for its problem-solving approach, credible expertise, collaborative work style, and unmatched communication.

The Charlotte office has significantly contributed to the city’s skyline with landmark projects like The Vue, Avenue, Bell Uptown, and the revitalization of One Independence Center. More recent additions include The Campbell and Linea at The Line towers in South End. Outside the city center, JE Dunn’s pivotal projects include the South Charlotte VA Clinic, Atrium Health Lake Norman Hospital, and the CLT Concourse A Expansion — Phase II, all playing a critical role in the region’s growth.

In 2018, JE Dunn opened a Raleigh office, focusing on biopharm, healthcare, and education projects, including the Steve Troxler Agricultural Sciences Center and schools for the Wake County Public School System.

Rich Cerretti, leader of JE Dunn’s Carolinas offices, emphasized the importance of a diversified revenue base, saying, “Until 15 years ago, the Charlotte office was almost 90% high-rise condo construction. We learned a valuable lesson from the financial crisis, and we’re focused today on ensuring we have a diverse revenue base.”

In addition to its business success, JE Dunn has maintained a strong commitment to community service. “Families first” is a guiding principle for the company, fostering a work environment that prioritizes employee well-being and community engagement. JE Dunn has earned recognition as a top employer in Charlotte and continues to give back, investing 10% of net income in philanthropic causes. Through its Employee Match Program and volunteerism, JE Dunn employees have supported many organizations nationwide.

To celebrate 100 years of giving, JE Dunn launched "Building a Legacy: A Century of Generosity" in 2024, awarding $100,000 to 10 selected nonprofits. One recipient, Beds for Kids in Charlotte, used the donation to add a box truck to its fleet, providing furniture for over 1,200 families.

JE Dunn’s offices in Charlotte and Raleigh are poised for continued success, with a legacy of giving and a forward-looking vision.
