A $2.54 million grant has been awarded to the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC), with part of the funds allocated for the construction of six new rental units in the Mahoning Valley.
The Glenwood Avenue Duplexes project will receive $336,000 to develop these six units, aimed at very low to moderate-income residents.
The remainder of the grant will be directed toward home repairs and down payment assistance: $1.5 million will be used to renovate 150 homes, while $705,000 will provide down payment support for 30 homebuyers, with each receiving up to $18,000.
YNDC collaborated with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati’s Affordable Housing Program, Huntington National Bank, Premier Bank, the City of Youngstown, and The Raymond John Wean Foundation to secure these funds.
The development projects are slated for completion by 2025.
