Georgia-Pacific has announced the appointment of David Neal as Executive Vice President of Building Products, effective in early March. Neal, who currently serves as the president of the company’s gypsum business, will succeed Andy Konieczka, who is retiring after a long tenure at Georgia-Pacific and Koch, Inc.
Christian Fischer, Georgia-Pacific's CEO, praised Neal as a transformative leader, citing his instrumental role in the $300 million expansion of Georgia-Pacific's Sweetwater, Texas facility, which significantly boosted the gypsum business's profits. With his extensive experience, Neal is expected to lead the company's building products division into its next phase of growth.
Neal’s career at Georgia-Pacific spans over two decades, having joined the company in 1997 as a quality resource manager. His leadership roles have included serving as the president of the gypsum business, regional operations manager, and district sales manager.
In addition to his professional achievements, Neal is deeply involved in his community in the metro Atlanta area, where he contributes to organizations like Leadership Atlanta, Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering External Advisory Board, and the High Museum of Art’s board of directors. He is also a regular volunteer for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
Georgia-Pacific, a leading manufacturer in the building products industry, is based in Atlanta and operates over 150 facilities globally.
