Entergy Boosts Infrastructure for Meta’s New Facility in Richland Parish

Entergy Louisiana has completed a vital infrastructure project aimed at powering Meta’s new data center in Richland Parish, ensuring long-term economic growth and energy resilience in the region. The project, which was finished ahead of schedule, will deliver 10 megawatts of power for the construction of Meta’s state-of-the-art facility, while also enhancing the local electric grid's reliability.
Entergy's commitment goes beyond supporting Meta’s operations. The upgrades made during this construction will improve power service for the entire area, benefiting all local customers by boosting reliability and the system's resilience to outages.

Phillip May, president and CEO of Entergy Louisiana, emphasized, "This project reflects the kind of forward-thinking investment that drives growth in our communities. Not only are we supporting one of the world’s leading technology companies as they build right here in Richland Parish, but we’re also strengthening the grid for our existing customers and creating economic opportunities across the region."
Project Highlights
Enhanced reliability
Key distribution line upgrades will bolster electric service, making the system more resistant to power outages and weather disruptions.
Local economic impact
The project has already contributed approximately $3 million to Louisiana-based contract partners and $150,000 to local landowners for land rights required for the construction.
Community investment
Nearly five miles of electric lines were rebuilt, along with the installation of advanced voltage regulation equipment, benefiting both Meta and local residents with dependable power.
The construction work was carried out by a team of experienced engineers and local construction partners, including Chain Electric Company of West Monroe, Hunt, Guillot and Associates of Ruston, and RC Boring of Cottonport.
May added, "Projects of this magnitude bring benefits to all customers, including families, small businesses, and communities throughout northeast Louisiana. We’re building the future of energy, and we’re doing it in a way that lifts up everyone."
Entergy Louisiana provides electric service to over 1 million customers across 58 parishes and natural gas service to more than 94,000 customers in Baton Rouge. The company is part of Entergy Corporation, which delivers electricity to 3 million customers across the Gulf Coast and owns a large-scale, clean power generation fleet.
