The Mid-Oregon Construction Safety Summit, a two-day training conference, will take place in Bend, Oregon, on January 27-28, 2025. The summit is designed to provide workers in residential, commercial, and industrial construction with essential safety training to help mitigate health and safety risks. The conference will cover topics such as fall protection, ladders and scaffolds, excavations, electrical systems, communication, and addressing hazards from heat and wildfire smoke. Several sessions will be offered in Spanish.
The summit will also include OSHA 10-hour training for construction professionals and additional training in work zone safety and flagging. Attendees can receive certifications and recertifications, as well as continuing education credits, including those through Oregon's Construction Contractors Board and Landscape Contractors Board.
Oregon OSHA, a division of the Department of Consumer and Business Services, is one of the key partners sponsoring the 22nd annual event, which will be held at the Riverhouse Lodge Convention Center.
The keynote address, "Champions of Safety: Unleashing the Lifesaving Power of Culture and Communication," will be presented by Layla McGlone, founder of Building Excellence. McGlone’s presentation will highlight how fostering a strong safety culture through core values, leadership, and employee engagement can significantly reduce workplace injuries.

- Preventing fall hazard exposures
- Pre-task planning for safety
- Hand and power tools, and personal protective equipment
- Health hazards in construction
- Understanding Oregon OSHA’s inspection process
- Supervisor’s safety responsibilities
- Underground line safety
- Building a better safety culture
- Defensive driving and safe practices
