Cemex Honors World-Class Architecture at 2024 Building Award Ceremony in Monterrey

Monterrey, Mexico, November 19, 2024Cemex proudly announced the winners of the 2024 Cemex Building Award during a prestigious ceremony held in Monterrey, Mexico. The event brought together prominent architects, designers, engineers, and professionals from the global construction industry to celebrate the best of architecture and design.

The competition, which has recognized outstanding construction projects since 1991, received 355 national entries and a diverse range of submissions from 17 countries. A distinguished panel of architects selected the winners from 23 finalist projects in the National Edition and 43 finalist projects in the International Edition.

The panel of judges consisted of 10 esteemed architects and engineers from Mexico, the US, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Belgium.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of the Lorenzo H. Zambrano Prize 2024, awarded to Dr. Roberto Stark for his contributions to sustainability and his dedication to mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Additionally, the Architect Marcelo Zambrano Scholarship 2024 was presented to Architect Emilia Avendaño Granados, a graduate of ITESO, who will pursue postgraduate studies in the Master of Conservation of Monuments and Sites at KU Leuven in Belgium.

The Cemex Building Award has long been a platform for recognizing the ingenuity and sustainability of architects and engineers, showcasing designs that benefit current and future generations.
