Breathtaking video shows top of Michigan’s 2nd tallest skyscraper under construction
DETROIT - We’re seeing a breathtaking view of the construction of Michigan’s second tallest skyscraper, a view from the top not many people have seen yet.
Standing 681.4 feet tall, the Hudson Site in downtown Detroit reached a construction milestone this week as the last steel beam was lifted into place. This building will be the second tallest in Michigan after the Renaissance Center in Detroit, which stands 727 feet tall.
Located at Woodward and Grand River, this is the largest ground-up development in the last 50 years in Detroit. Now that the topping off milestone is complete, the next phase of construction will see crews installing the remaining elements of the glass façade.
The building will feature 1.5 million square feet of new retail, office, dining, hospitality, residential and event space. Construction is expected to be complete sometime this year.
