$22 Million Construction Project in Portland Receives Building Permit
A new $22 million construction permit has been issued for a project at 4821 N. Channel Ave. in Portland. The project involves the construction of a three-story building designed for truck maintenance and repair. The facility will include storage space for vehicle parts, office areas, and a shop for servicing hydrogen-powered vehicles. Additionally, site work will be involved. Kirby Nagelhout Construction of Bend has been selected as the contractor. However, the project owner and applicant are not listed.
In other building permit activity from January 6-12, 2025, several projects were under review:
- An $863,949 alteration permit is under review for 11215 S.E. Market St., which includes plans for a new storefront with secure entry vestibule doors and roof replacement. Nathan Arnold of Faster Permits is the applicant, and David Douglas School District is the project owner. The contractor is not listed.
- A $750,000 alteration permit for 10211 N. Lombard St. is under review, focusing on replacing walkways, guardrails, and landings, with original doors being reinstalled. - A $1,359,884 new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 16-unit apartment building at 251 N. Emerson St. Nicholas Papaefthimiou of Design Research Office is the applicant, with Emerson 23 LLC of Lake Oswego as the project owner and Dan Muresan of JF Construction Co. as the contractor.
- A $5 million new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 32-unit apartment building at 5720 N.E. Flanders St. Drew Dippel of Scott Edwards Architecture is the applicant, and iBuildPdx Co. LLC is the contractor, with the Kent Family Trust as the project owner.
Facility permit activity includes a $1,120,808 alteration permit for Tonkon Torp at 1300 S.W. Fifth Ave. for tenant improvements on floors 21-24, involving the installation of HVAC systems and electrical work. Paul Lukes of Streimer Sheet Metal is the applicant, and Streimer Sheet Metal is also the contractor for the project. The project owner is SOF-XI WFP Owner LLC.
No facility permits with a value of $500,000 or more were received during this period.
